The origins of metal fishing lures

Julio Thompson Puel was fishing in a boat on a lake in Vermont in 1848.

One day, while fishing as usual, he bumped into a rock and dropped the spoon

he had brought with him into the lake.

It seems that a trout bit into the spoon as it sank into the lake.

After that, he cut off the handle of the spoon and attached a hook to it and tried trolling, and apparently he was able to catch some trout.

This is said to be the beginning of metal jigs.

Metal fishing lures originating from the United States.
We’ve heard that it's no longer possible to produce such cutleries domestically in the U.S.
That’s why we started creating metal fishing lures.

We also offer amazing lures crafted by Japanese sword smiths, TASAI who creates traditional Japanese swords.
